At road.cc, every product has been thoroughly tested, as long as you can correctly understand its working conditions. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists and we believe they are objective. Although we strive to ensure that the opinions expressed are supported by facts, the comments are essentially an informed opinion, not a final ruling. We will not deliberately try to destroy anything (except locks), but we do try to find any weaknesses in the design. The total score is not just the average of the other scores: it reflects the function and value of the product-the value depends on how the product compares with items of similar specifications, quality, and price.

Good grades are more common than bad, because fortunately good products are more common than bad.

Donda Torrential Jacket is a very pleasing and practical shell, suitable for cold and wet riding. Although it's only "waterproof" rather than waterproof-and without any DWR treatment-it keeps you comfortable in the constant rain, and breathes well, making you happy during dry riding. Although I personally like this bright orange version, it has some unfortunate problems, and the black version will not.

The first thing to do is: read Donda's size chart and believe what it says. I started with my usual medium size, because I was never small (I am 6 feet 1 inch tall and 39 inches bust), but the size of Donda is basically just one step away from most people.

The guide says that a small size fits a 38-40 chest—usually a medium size—and the guide is correct. However, if you usually wear a small size, unfortunately there is no XS for you.

Finding black that is not just mashed with hedges or please don't kill my fluorine yellow jacket may be a mission, so I like this: to me, orange and black are both fashionable and eye-catching. The huge silver logo and stripes look cool, but they are also very reflective.

Bright fabric will inevitably have stains, but the problem is that it will darken when wet-your sweat will seep from the seams. Obviously rain will hide this, but it is ugly on dry days. To make matters worse, sweat stains will stay once they dry.

Combine this with the desire to preserve the smell and wash it after every ride (it will look like new at least at 30°C). Tang Da said that this fabric is "antibacterial", and if you bravely go in and smell it, the pits really look okay (testing is not all glamour, you know...) more smelly synthetic materials.

The dyed seam may not be visible on the black version, it has at least those impressive reflections to help you notice, so this may be a better choice for some people.

Donda did not list any DWR coating to protect the jacket. Despite this, I found that it stays warm and comfortable even when it rains continuously, and I feel dry and protected even when I am away.

Presumably, it has good warmth retention (you can wear it on a thin long-sleeved base at 10°C), strong wind resistance and effective air permeability. Any dampness feels like sweating, and you are warm inside. This fabric will not absorb water, nor will it feel heavy or damp, although it can be passed through the back pocket.

You will get the usual three-made of thin, stretchy fabric-and they work well, even though the top seam is not elastic. In small sizes, they are safe enough for me, but in larger sizes, they tend to splay a bit and don't give me confidence.

The vertical zipper on the right actually results in a huge inner bag, the same size as all three outer bags, presumably this double-layer mesh fabric plus outer bag fabric can hold extra moisture and weight.

However, even this is not a big problem. Somehow, my phone (in one case) and a buff came out of this pocket after an hour of rain, and it was just the slightest dampness to them. I know it sounds weird, but that's it...

All in all, it has no waterproof coating and no tape seams, but Donda's "waterproof" (not waterproof) claim is fair, and it feels comfortable and protected even if it rains. In addition, the inner bag fabric is almost mesh-exposed to your body heat and moisture like a fabric, but somehow seems to keep things dry. I can only assume that the fast moisture wicking, breathability and quick-drying properties of the main fabric are the reason behind it-humidity does not drift and accumulate everywhere.

The tailoring is great, with a long tail, neat sleeves with slender cuffs suitable for wearing gloves, and a high "racial fit" neckline that is perfect for sealing drips. On the downside, the fabric from the upper chest to the bottom of the neck is a bit too much, and it may sag.

I also found myself wishing to have a zipper garage because I found it uncomfortable to do so all the time, only to realize that it actually has one. It just doesn't have enough metal pads. If you put the zipper down a few centimeters, it will at least stay in its original shape, and the thick taper of the neck means it still seals well.

Most of the similar jackets we tested recently are much more expensive-in fact, many winter jackets that are not waterproof at all are more expensive.

For example, the Specialized Men's RBX softshell jacket I tested recently costs £150. Although it is warm, windproof and breathable, the loose cut is not suitable for everyone-if it rains, there will be nothing.

The NVPA Storm Jacket is definitely an excellent choice for rain and wind protection, and it is also very breathable, but the price of 240 pounds should be a good flip. In addition, it is only black and has zero reflection.

The Sportful Fiandre Pro medium jacket is windproof and waterproof, and the red is also very eye-catching (if there are no serious reflections), but it also rose to 240 pounds.

The Assos Mille GT winter jacket Evo is only 225 pounds cheaper and does not have any zipper pockets.

The Altura Nightvision Hurricane jacket is used as a simple and packable waterproof jacket. It is actually very capable under duress, although it is still £140 more expensive than Donda.

Torrential is not without flaws-it can be said that for real rainstorms, you need real waterproofing-but if you are satisfied with black, the most obvious problems are easy to solve. Its performance and versatility are impressive, and the price is good. Be sure to check Donda's size chart first.

Tell us the purpose and target audience of this jacket. What is the manufacturer's comment on this? How does this compare to your own feelings?

Tang Da said: "A new high-quality all-weather jacket suitable for a variety of conditions. The jacket has a thermal inner layer construction, and a waterproof and windproof outer layer can protect you during wet and winter riding."

Tell us more about the technical aspects of the jacket?

Three-section load-bearing bag

Easy-adhesive lining on sleeves and base

The sturdy structure makes the attention to detail pleasant.

Whether it rains or not, it is warm, protective and comfortable.

It is waterproof, not waterproof, but the key is that it stays warm and comfortable when wet.

It is usually very good, although my upper chest/lower neck is a bit loose.

This is true for Donda's chart, but Donda's small size is like most people's medium size (nothing is smaller than this).

Many winter jackets that are not rain-proof are more expensive.

How easy is this jacket to maintain? What was the reaction after being washed?

It's well washed, but I need it after every ride. At least there is no DWR wear.

Tell us how the jacket performs as a whole when used for its design purpose

Very good-it is perfect for cold days (and then most days) where neither absolute dryness nor constant hammering is guaranteed.

Tell us what you particularly like about this jacket

It is well-made, comfortable, versatile, attractive and reasonably priced.

Tell us what you don't particularly like about this jacket

The weird sizing method will not satisfy the petite person, the upper chest/lower collar fits slightly slanted, and sweat leaks from the seams-which will leave stains.

How does the price compare to similar products on the market (including products tested recently on road.cc)?

Most similar jackets we have tested recently are much more expensive-in fact, even non-waterproof winter jackets are usually more than £100.

Do you like to use this jacket? Yes

Would you consider buying this jacket? Yes

Would you recommend this jacket to a friend? Yes

Use this box to explain your total score

If its price with competitors is in the range of more than £100, the problem of sweat at the seams making the seams darker-and the lack of a smaller size-will make it 7 overall. But it is much cheaper than many jackets with fewer features, and the black version still has an impressive reflective effect; the unsightly problem can be solved. Its quality, performance and practicality combined with attractive prices make it one-eighth.

Not particularly. The world leaders are just delusional.
